Parish Administration

Parish Administration begins with the Pastor, who receives input from two sources, his parish staff and the Pastoral Council. The parish staff consists of the Pastor, Associate Pastor, Deacon, Pastoral Associate, School Principal, Director of Religious Education, Director of Music, Business Administrator, and Facilities Manager.

Parish Pastoral Council

Parish Pastoral Council is the forum for uniting and coordinating all the functions of our parish, helping direct the operation and growth of the parish, both spiritually and temporally. It is comprised of the Pastor, Associate Pastor, the Deacon, ten elected members-at-large, and five elected service representatives (Education, Mission/Community, Parish, Temporal, and Organizations). Nominations and elections generally take place each spring and ballots are collected at Sunday Mass. General meetings are held monthly and are open to all parishioners.

Education Commission

Education Commission is the basic unit for educational planning and policy making. The Commission sees to it that the educational needs of everyone in the parish are being served. At Saint James, it is made up of the Pastor, Associate Pastor, the Director of Religious Education, and twelve elected parishioners. Nominations and elections are held at the same time as Pastoral Council nominations and elections. Monthly meetings are open to all members of Saint James Parish.

Finance Commission

Finance Commission is responsible for the financial planning for the parish. The Commission advises the Pastor and Pastoral Council. It annually prepares and submits a fiscal budget to Pastoral Council for their approval and monitors the actual income and expenses against the budget. The Commission is composed of the Pastor, the parish Business Administrator, and volunteers with financial background plus an elected member from Pastoral Council (Temporal Services) and a representative from the Education Commission.

Worship Commission

Worship Commission shares the Pastor's responsibility to do whatever is needed to foster the growth of a living and authentic liturgical tradition in the parish. The Commission oversees the planning of all parish worship celebrations and strives to be aware of the needs and desires of the community regarding worship. The Commission is comprised of the Pastor or Associate Pastor, Director of Music, Director of Religious Education, and members of the Art and Environment, Liturgical Services and Planners committees. Meetings are held monthly and all parishioners are welcome to attend.
