Saint James School Our parish elementary school provides a high quality education with equal learning opportunities for all students in a Catholic centered environment. Together in partnership with the parents, we seek to develop each student spiritually, morally, intellectually and physically. We emphasize Catholic attitudes and principles in an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation. We challenge the unique, individual abilities of each student in such a manner as to enhance self-worth and to attain academic excellence. Tuition is charged, the exact figure varying each year based on the Pastoral Council guidelines. Information regarding enrollment and tuition can be obtained by contacting the Business Office or school. Teacher aides, library helpers, tutors, cafeteria workers, etc. are always needed and welcome. Please call the School Office directly if you are interested in volunteering your time or talents. Adult Education The goal is to provide a variety of educational opportunities for our parishioners. Topics are chosen based on the needs and suggestions of the parishioners. Meeting times and topics are listed in the bulletin. C.C.D. Religious education classes for all students in grades one through eight who attend public schools are taught by volunteer teachers under the direction of the parish D.R.E. Students are instructed in our beliefs and given experiences of prayer and service. Other volunteer positions include hall monitors and teachers aides. Persons interested in helping are always welcome. Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults RCIA is a program open to people who desire to learn about the Catholic Church and in time perhaps, become part of our faith family. Our mission is to welcome, instruct and walk with inquirers on their faith journey. Sessions are held on Sunday mornings beginning in September and ending at Pentecost. However, the process of welcoming people and introducing them to our faith is a year-round activity. Parish sponsors, team members, and candidate support persons fill out the RCIA membership. Summer Bible School Vacation Bible School is a week of prayer, bible stories, songs, games, and crafts. It is open to all children ages four to seven. Watch the bulletin for dates and registration information. Sunday Morning Pre-School Program All three, four, and five-year olds can register for this class at the Parish Office. Our aim is to help create a Christian attitude at an early age and enable the children to see and be thankful for all God's wonderful gifts. The children are taught to appreciate themselves, family, friends, and others around them through activity books, songs, Bible stories and games. The classes take place during the Sunday 9:00 a.m. Mass, September through April in the school classrooms. |
